Somatic Therapy (Integrative)

Somatic Therapy (Integrative) is a body-centred approach that recognises the body as a primary site of healing. By working with physical sensations, breath, movement, and nervous system patterns, this therapy supports you to gently release stored stress, trauma, and emotional tension — restoring regulation, resilience, and a deep sense of safety within yourself.

This deeply integrative approach combines body-based awareness, trauma-informed practice, and nervous system work to address what talk therapy alone cannot always reach.

Sessions are carefully paced to meet your nervous system where it is — never pushing beyond what feels safe. Whether you are navigating chronic stress, trauma, anxiety, or a quiet sense of disconnection from yourself, this therapy offers a grounded, evidence-informed path toward genuine and lasting healing.

Suitable for those experiencing trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, emotional dysregulation, or a sense of disconnection from themselves.

Abi Beri is an IPHM-accredited Somatic Therapist and Nervous System Specialist, currently completing an MSc in Psychotherapy, supporting clients to release stored trauma and restore regulation through body-centred, trauma-informed practice.

What to expect

We begin with a grounding conversation to understand what is present for you — physically, emotionally, and energetically. I introduce somatic resourcing and breath practices to help you settle into your body and feel safe in the space.

Working with body sensations, movement impulses, and nervous system responses, we gently explore what is held below the level of conscious thought. This is slow, careful, titrated work — never pushing the system beyond what it can integrate.

You will develop a practical toolkit of self-regulation techniques to use between sessions. Sessions are fully clothed and may involve gentle movement, guided awareness, or stillness depending on what your body needs that day. You leave with greater body awareness, more capacity to self-regulate, and a felt sense of safety.

“Before working with Abi, I had tried years of traditional therapy and still felt stuck in my body. Somatic work with him was completely different — I actually started to feel things shift physically. It is unlike anything I had tried before.”

— Ciara, Dublin

“Abi’s somatic approach helped me understand why my body was always in overdrive. For the first time I have tools that actually work — not just talking about the problem but genuinely releasing it”.

— Paul, Kildare

“I came to Abi in a complete state of burnout. The somatic sessions brought me back to myself in a way I did not think was possible. Gentle, professional, and deeply effective.”

— Orla, Naas
